Box No.1

This exquisitely handcrafted box is crafted from quartersawn Sycamore with a light curl figure. The sides are one-piece horizontal and perfectly four-corner matched, while the top is spalted and figured Western Maple, bookmatched with its join line running fore & aft.
 
The top edge has been chamfered to reveal a curly Eastern Maple detail, while the opening edges feature the same curl. On the front face, a feature inlay of dark, intense, and highly detailed spalted Maple has been re-sawn and bookmatched to create an attractive border in a dentil style.
 
The underside of the lid features intense Birdseye Maple, while the trays also showcase very select Birdseye Maple. Furthermore, the purple velvet lining adds an elegant touch to this box. Finally, a decorative yet functional ebony finger pull inlaid on the lower tray makes removal easy.
